Formula 2 serves as the primary feeder series for Formula 1, showcasing the next generation of racing talent on the same prestigious circuits as F1. As an official FIA championship, F2 features standardized cars that emphasize driver skill and development, creating close, competitive racing. The series follows a sprint and feature race format each weekend, with points systems designed to reward consistency and overtaking. For young drivers, F2 represents the final stepping stone before potentially reaching Formula 1, with many current F1 stars having graduated through its ranks.
