Job Description
Alpine F1 Team are looking for a talented Wind Tunnel Engineer to join our Experimental Operations group. With a dynamic and supportive team mindset and world-leading facilities in rural Oxfordshire, we provide the ideal environment where engineers can make their mark while constantly developing their skills and capabilities.
If you are high performing, tenacious and motivated, apply today.
The Role
As a Wind Tunnel Engineer in our Experimental Operations group, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting a broad range of daily operations relating to our wind tunnel and associated test rigs and equipment. Working closely with colleagues, you will ensure that our wind tunnel models and related facilities are well maintained and correctly set up to ensure safe, reliable and effective operation. You will put your analysis and reporting skills to good use to ensure the validity and integrity of acquired data and be part of the front line of support for fault diagnostics and resolution. A practical, hands-on person, you will use a range of test rigs to calibrate the model’s subcomponents, and will carry out routine maintenance and cleaning of the tunnel facility.
As someone with an active and curious mind, you will constantly strive to enhance your own capabilities and those of the wider team by helping to improve our methodology and processes, and you will champion best practice across all experimental activities. You will communicate proactively with colleagues of all levels to facilitate the smooth running of our test programmes, and provide out-of-hours on-call support when required.
The Person
To succeed in this role you will enjoy working in a hands-on manner and have a good appreciation of mechanical and electronic systems. You will have strong data analysis skills and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with colleagues from all levels in the Aerodynamics department and beyond. You will have a proactive mindset, and be able to work under your own initiative. This is fundamentally a team role, so you will be able to show us that you can work collaboratively even when under pressure.
We are open-minded about your background, but some experience in one or more of the following would be an advantage:
We offer a team who is truly ambitious with their goals, with a unique and friendly working environment and competitive remuneration – including pension, free onsite gym, holiday buy back scheme, subsidised restaurant, working from home opportunities, private healthcare, a leading training and mentoring program and many others.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
If you are high performing, tenacious and motivated, apply today.
