Job Description

Join the Audi F1 Project - Shape the Future of Motorsport!

Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.

Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. The new team has three locations. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. We have recently opened Sauber Motorsport Technology Center in the UK. Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations with support from the UK.

We are now opening applications for our inaugural Graduate Programme. In your graduate role, you will contribute directly to live projects, gaining hands-on experience from day one.

Continuous improvement is at the core of what we do. You will be encouraged to adapt and innovate, strengthening your skills and developing a growth mindset. Clear and effective communication, as well as constructive feedback, will be essential in helping you collaborate across teams. You will share knowledge openly and learn from the experience of your teammates. And we place great emphasis on ownership: you will take responsibility for your work, make informed decisions and understand how your contributions shape the wider team's success.

Your mission

As a graduate member of the Weight Management team, you play a key role in predicting, tracking, and optimising car weight throughout the full development cycle. From early concept and layout studies to in-season updates, you collaborate with Design Office, Race Engineering, Vehicle Performance, Systems Engineering, and Production teams to ensure weight and weight distribution targets are met while maintaining compliance with FIA regulations. You contribute to recurring weight tracking tasks, support weighing and centre of gravity measurement activities, and help drive continuous improvement projects that enhance efficiency and precision. This role gives you the opportunity to develop expertise in dedicated car areas, acting as a weight management delegate for those systems. You gain hands-on experience across both factory and trackside activities, refining weight management processes while working alongside multiple engineering disciplines in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support weight tracking across current and future car projects, including validation through weighing and centre of gravity checks.
  • Assist in predicting car weight, weight distribution, and centre of gravity from component estimates.
  • Act as a delegate for dedicated car areas, building expertise , reviewing estimates, and identifying weight-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with design teams to update estimates, flag risks, and maintain the centralised weight database.
  • Support Race Engineering with event-related weight predictions and coordinate weight data exchange between track and factory.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by developing and enhancing tools, methods, and processes.
  • Investigate new methodologies to improve efficiency and shareability of weight information across the company.
  • Prepare clear documentation and reports to communicate weight status and progress to engineering teams and management.

  • Familiarity with CAD/PLM environments (CATIA/3DExperience an advantage).
  • Proficiency in programming and data analysis tools (e.g. MATLAB, Python).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Personal Attributes

  • Organised and detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy in technical work.
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn, with a strong problem-solving mindset.
  • Effective communicator, able to present technical findings clearly in both written and verbal form.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Open to feedback and committed to continuous personal and professional development.
