Key Accountabilities:

As one of our Tyre Engineers, your responsibilities will include:

  • Being highly analytical in which you will be expected to identify, analyse and develop solutions to improve vehicle performance.
  • Systematically investigating and understanding tyre performance through race events, from the factory race support room.
  • Investigating and understanding correlation differences between vehicle simulations and the race car behaviour on track.
  • Contribute to tyre analysis preparation ahead of race events and post race performance review and summary documents.
  • Running simulations to review new performance concepts that deliver performance differentiation from competitors.
  • Improving and developing new methodologies for performance analysis tools to support objective technical decision making.
  • Support driver-in-the-loop simulator testing for customer projects with tyre model fitting and correlation.
  • Support thermo-mechanical tyre model testing and parameterisation to ensure efficient development and release cycles.

What you'll Bring:

Essential

  • Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering degree (preferably Masters) or similar qualification is essential, but your skills, experience, ability to learn, energy and attitude are most important.
  • Excellent grounding in mechanics and in engineering numerical methods.
  • Conversant with engineering software tools and object-oriented coding languages.
  • Excellent communicative and collaborative skills.

Desirable

  • Proven experience of trackside tyre performance or trackside tyre development experience.
  • Experience of tyre rig testing and correlation to vehicle data.
  • Experience in non-linear programming techniques and optimal control will be considered beneficial.
  • Familiarity with matlab/python/plotly for data handling and visualisation creation
