The Role:

As part of the Trackside Electronics team the Electronics Support Engineer will be responsible for calibration and analysis of car electronic control and hydraulics systems, as well as troubleshooting. Reporting to the Head of Trackside Electronicsthe ideal candidate will have strong analysis skills and be a strong team player.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the testing of the car electronic, control, and hydraulic systems prior to installation.
  • Monitoring the health of the on-car electrical, control and hydraulic systems while running and in post-analysis.
  • Acting as a reference for other support engineers and electronic technicians on questions of car build and operating procedures.
  • Assisting in the production of event reports detailing faults and problems encountered at track events.
  • Responsible for ensuring that cars are built to a specification, liaising with factory staff to ensure parts and spares are available.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone with:

  • an electronics background with a strong understanding of data acquisition systems, particularly SECU and other McLaren Applied Technology products.
  • It is essential for the successful candidate to have strong data analysis and processing skills and be a robust communicator, ideally from a Motorsport background in a similar role.

Please be aware that the successful candidate will be required to attend race and test events, which involves spending a considerable amount of time away from home.
