Job Description

About the role

As Test Team Engineer F2 & F3, you play a pivotal role in running the older generation F218 and F319 cars for the Test Team. You work closely with drivers, mechanics, data engineers and team management to ensure optimal car performance during test events and preparation in the workshop.

This role is strongly focused on executing intensive testing programmes, with a clear emphasis on driver development and vehicle/track understanding, in close collaboration with the Race Teams. In addition, you contribute to engineering projects that support and enhance the testing programme. It is a hands-on engineering role in a high-performance motorsport environment, where technical ownership, analysis and execution come together.

Your responsibilities

Trackside & driver support

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for the driver during test events
  • Communicate setup changes clearly and translate driver feedback into actionable setup adjustments
  • Produce detailed post-event reports on driver performance and car behaviour
  • Provide post-event damage reports in collaboration with the mechanics

Car performance & setup

  • Develop and refine car setup, including suspension geometry, aerodynamics and powertrain optimisation
  • Ensure all systems and sensors are fully operational ahead of each session
  • Collect and interpret data from various sensors to monitor performance metrics
  • Analyse data from track sessions and tests to define development priorities

Data & analysis

  • Work closely with data engineers to analyse performance data
  • Interpret and evaluate test results to guide development directions
  • Support the alignment of technical priorities with the overall test programme

Operations, reliability & compliance

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues under tight time constraints to minimise downtime
  • Collaborate with mechanics to implement upgrades and resolve technical issues
  • Ensure compliance with FIA technical and sporting regulations and safety standards
  • Work with team management to align technical efforts with broader team goals

What you bring

  • Proven experience in Race Engineering on F2 and/or F3 cars
  • Experience with race car data analysis, motorsport timing and strategy systems, driver simulators and closed-loop simulation software
  • Comfortable working with MS Office
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, Python and data visualisation / database tools
  • Preferably experience with CAD software
  • A detail-oriented mindset with strong planning and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with drivers, mechanics and engineers
  • The ability to stay calm, positive and professional in a high-pressure environment
  • A team player who can also work independently and take ownership
  • You are already legally allowed to work in the Netherlands (we do not offer visa sponsorship or relocation support)
  • Preferably available on a freelance basis

Good to know

  • This is a hands-on engineering role with significant trackside and workshop involvement
  • You will work closely with both the Test Team and the Race Teams
  • The role combines performance engineering, data analysis and operational execution
  • Flexibility and availability for test events are an important part of the job

What we offer

  • A unique opportunity to work in the dynamic world of motorsport.
  • A competitive salary aligned with your knowledge and experience.
  • Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometre, capped at €250 per month.
  • Fresh daily lunch (for a small contribution).
  • Access to an on-site gym.
