We have an exciting opportunity to be part of our Supply Chain Development team in the role of Supplier Development Engineer.
In this role, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring that our external supply chain delivers quality components to the highest standards. You’ll be responsible for building and improving supplier relationships, supporting quality assurance practices, and driving continuous improvement across a fast-paced and performance-critical engineering environment. This is a key position contributing to our ambition to perform consistently as a top team in the FIA Constructors’ Championship.
Key Responsibilities
- Auditing suppliers, tracking their performance, and implementing improvement plans.
- Developing and maintaining quality standards documentation for externally produced parts.
- Supporting procedures and processes to ensure full compliance with AMR quality expectations.
- Strengthening supplier relationships through proactive communication and knowledge sharing.
- Coordinating with internal teams, including Inspection, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Design to deliver quality components on time.
- Managing and communicating supplier non-conformances (NCRs) promptly and effectively.
- Leading and contributing to meetings and project delivery schedules as required.
- Representing the company professionally with current and potential suppliers.
- Maintaining and developing skill levels in line with industry standards.
- Experience within motorsport or a similarly demanding, high-precision environment.
- Have a good understanding around manufacturing processes for Composite and Metallic components. Electronics advantageous but not required.
- Excellent working knowledge of Quality Assurance methods and processes in a high-pressure engineering environment.
- Strong auditing experience, ideally trained to ISO 9001 Lead Auditor level or equivalent.
- Proven attention to detail and ability to ensure suppliers meet high quality standards within tight timelines.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and solve high-complexity issues under pressure.
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, or similar.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Self-motivated and calm under pressure, with strong decision-making and organisational skills.
- Positive and respectful communicator with a collaborative team approach.
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-changing environment with the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships.
