Our Structures and Materials group is responsible for the analysis and validation of components to ensure they meet the demanding performance, safety, and reliability standards of Formula One. As a Stress Intern, you’ll be part of a team that uses advanced simulation and testing techniques to support the design and development of race-critical parts.
The Role
As a Stress Intern, you’ll support the team in performing structural analysis, validating designs, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll work closely with design, composites, and reliability teams to ensure components are optimised for strength, stiffness, and weight.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in performing structural analysis using FEA tools
- Support the validation of components through simulation and physical testing
- Help prepare technical reports and documentation for design reviews
- Contribute to optimisation studies for weight and performance
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure robust and efficient component delivery
- Currently studying a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or Motorsport Engineering and seeking an industry placement in your penultimate year of university
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics and materials
- Experience with FEA software
- Familiarity with CAD tools and engineering documentation
- Passion for motorsport and a proactive, analytical mindset
