Red Bull Advanced Technologies are looking for a No1 Mechanic who will be responsible for the assembly and disassembly of Red Bull Advanced Technology cars in a professional, safe and timely manner while working to clearly defined specifications and standards. This role involves managing a test team crew of technicians, supporting remote events as well as rig tests and car builds as required.


Role Responsibilities

  • To ensure that all new chassis builds are carried out in a safe, timely and professional manner and in accordance with procedural requirements as defined and issued by Test Team and Car Design.
  • Lead the preparation, assembly, and disassembly of test cars before and after each test event to the highest standards.
  • To ensure the highest standard of workmanship from your team whilst ensuring that any safety or reliability issues are brought to the immediate attention of the Chief Mechanic and Lead Engineer.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical or technical issues that arise during testing, minimizing downtime.
  • Support the Supply Chain team with turnarounds and builds as required.
  • Responsibility for chassis workflow through the system, ensuring that any issues are identified and quickly rectified.
  • Responsible for the lifing and quality of the car/chassis build and turnarounds. This will involve working as a team with the Parts Coordinator, Assembly Planning Controller and Operations Group in order to achieve our goal of 100% reliability.
  • To ensure all damaged or suspect components or assemblies are quarantined as required by Engineering and dealt with in accordance with Company quarantine procedures.
  • Maintain a scrupulously clean and tidy working environment, whether factory or trackside based, while always working within the departments COSHH guidelines and ensuring that all relevant Health and Safety requirements are met.
  • To conduct yourself in a professional and positive manner at all times whilst on company business whilst always respecting Company Procedures.
  • Travel globally to all test locations as required.
