Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, testing, and development of varied mechanical components for our Formula One car. You will work as part of a highly skilled team responsible for delivering innovative design solutions that support the team’s goal of being a top team in the FIA Constructor’s Championship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating design schemes from concept stage for mechanical components.
  • Producing detailed drawings to facilitate the manufacturing of these components.
  • Providing follow-up support during the assembly, testing, and development phases.
  • Developing practical solutions to resolve issues arising from testing and development.
  • Actively contributing to design concept development and continuous improvements.
  • Attending and participating in team meetings and technical discussions.
  • Keeping up to date with Formula 1 regulations and industry standards.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Relevant mechanical design experience in a motorsport environment, preferably Formula 1.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD systems, ideally CATIA V6.
  • Experience producing high-level design schemes and detailed drawings of complex assemblies under tight deadlines.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with an innovative and flexible approach to engineering challenges.
  • A strong analytical mindset throughout all stages of the design process.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to work calmly and confidently under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • A self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable attitude.
  • Commitment to teamwork and the ability to work effectively in a fast-changing environment.
  • A solid understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety best practices.

This is a full-time office-based role based at our campus in Silverstone, with additional requirement to travel to other locations where necessary.
