For almost 50 years, Williams Racing has been at the forefront of one of the fastest sports on the planet, being one of the top three most successful teams in history competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. With an almost unrivalled heritage of engineering and racing F1 cars and unforgettable eras that demonstrate it is a force to be reckoned with, the British squad boasts 16 F1 World Championship titles to its name.
Since its foundation in 1977 by the eminent, late Sir Frank Williams and engineering pioneer Sir Patrick Head, the team has won nine Constructors’ Championships, in association with Cosworth, Honda and Renault. Its roll call of drivers is legendary, with its seven Drivers’ Championship trophies being lifted by true icons of the sport: Alan Jones, Keke Rosberg, Nelson Piquet, Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve. The team has made history before and is out to make it again with a long-term mission to evolve and return to the front of the grid.

Main Duties:
- To carry out machining operations as directed by the Supervisor ensuring all steps are taken to meet given deadlines and that machines are run at their optimum.
- When required, communicate with our TPP department to solve problems when machining patterns / jigs / components and offer solutions that may further improve the quality and runtime of the job.
- Proactively liaise with both machinists within the department and other areas of the business to ensure best practice is established and utilised.
- When required, carry out inspection during the machining of any patterns, jigs and components to ensure work presented to inspection is right first time.
- Ensure all relevant work orders and shop floor data is collected and is accurate.
- To effectively communicate to other shifts and ensure thorough handovers are completed to minimise loss in production time.
- Ensure all tooling is built to correct specification and stored accordingly.
- Follow all predefined information as set out in the program job packs.

- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated, as well as work diligently with the pattern shop team.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments to share ideas of continuous improvement to processes.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience Level:
- Posses a recognised apprenticeship or have relevant experience in a similar environment.
- Proficient in using 3 and 5 axis machine centres.
- Knowledge of various materials and their properties.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
