Job Description
Red Bull Powertrains are seeking an experienced Lead Technical Buyer to join our team, driving the future of motorsport innovation. You will be based at our state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes which is designed to deliver high-performance Power Units for the 2026 engine regulations.
As a Lead Technical Buyer, you will be in the Procurement Department who are responsible for the sourcing, in a cost effective and timely manner, of all components, manufacturing processes and services required for the design, development and manufacture of a Championship winning Power Unit (Engine and Hybrid System).
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with Head of Procurement to understand the priorities, deadlines and allocate work, accordingly, ensuring that the Procurement department staff and company resources and utilised effectively
- Achieve Key Performance Indicator targets (KPI) aligned to department Objectives, Goals, Strategy and Measures (OGSM), ensuring vison alignment and targets are met, Problem solving carried out where necessary and continuous improvement plans in place
- Working with Head of Procurement to maintain an in-depth knowledge of supply chain market to ensure best value and practices are implemented and maintained. Together identifying suitable and capable suppliers within Red Bull Technology Group supply base, whilst being proactive in looking for new and improved supply opportunities
- Processing the release of components through the Epicor material requirements planning (MRP) system, whilst taking an active role in the make/buy decision making process
- Providing guidance and leadership to the team’s buyers, setting targets aligned to agreed Key Performance Indicators
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in the successful procurement of low-volume, high complexity components
- Preferably experience (not essential) of Motorsport Electrical Power Unit System Procurement
- Proven experience of leading, inspiring and developing teams
- Demonstrate a high level of technical understanding and engineering competence, showing the ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and the manufacturing techniques required to produce said components
- Creative and proactive approach to work
- Effective communication skills – both verbal and written
- Team spirit, creativity, sense of responsibility
- Ability to work independently and reliably without supervision
