Job Description

Red Bull Powertrains have an exciting opportunity to join our technical office as we build on the team’s first Power Units, develop them into a race-ready package, and help deliver the most competitive car on the 2026 Formula One grid. Our open, dynamic, and inclusive environment ensures that everyone can make a valuable contribution. We are looking for a Junior Quality Engineer to help deliver World Championship winning cars year on year.

Working from our Milton Keynes factory you will be integrated to provide positive, proactive and collaborative Quality Engineering support to RBPT Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Inspection and our Sub-Contract Suppliers to ensure an efficient flow of the right quality parts to stock. You’ll develop strong working relationships, promoting a quality assurance approach using the necessary tools, and to support and challenge the business to continually improve our quality performance and technical capability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the quality assurance strategies for internal manufacturing, as agreed with the department leadership.
  • Analyse, report and monitor performance metrics for the quality performance of manufacturing; using statistical process control techniques where required.
  • Investigate manufacturing issues where the problem has escaped the manufacturing facility, initiate containment and ensure the issue is effectively resolved using robust problem-solving techniques.
  • Work with manufacturing and sub-contract suppliers to resolve non-conformance using a prioritised and risk-based approach.
  • Perform risk reduction activities by identifying themes and completing improvement projects, using a proactive risk based and data driven approach.
  • Plan, conduct and report on manufacturing facility audits to pro-actively evaluate business risks.
  • Collaborate and support manufacturing to reduce the perceived risks.
  • Support design for manufacture/inspection activities by collaborating with Manufacturing, QC and Design to ensure the design output is achievable; building in quality into the design at concept stage and manufacturing processes at the outset; ensuring measurement system capabilities are understood and proven where possible for inspected features.
  • Act as the voice of the customer to sub-contract suppliers: driving improvements, reporting quality performance and enabling an effective working relationship.
  • To successfully onboard new sub-contract suppliers ensuring the Red Bull requirements are fully understood and suppliers can comply.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality to ensure alignment of documentation and procedures, inputting into updates that benefit both internal and external departments.
  • To drive and deliver projects supporting the continual improvement of processes and systems.
  • Ensure risk-based detection strategies are deployed to detect non-conformance.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree level qualified OR sufficient experience in a manufacturing engineering/quality role.
  • Strong understanding of the implementation and use of preventative Quality Tools:
  • DFM, SPC, MSA, FMEA’s and Control Plans
  • Knowledge of Problem-Solving Tools such as:
  • 8D
  • 5-Why
  • Ishikawa
  • Is-Is Not
  • Experience in a manufacturing machine shop environment.
  • Qualifications and experience in auditing/lead auditing (preferred but not essential).
  • Understanding/appreciation of Metrology principles and measurement techniques/equipment.

Not only is this a fantastic position, but it is also a fantastic team to work with here at Red Bull Powertrains. A good salary is just the start, there are many other benefits too such as our bonus scheme, private health care cover, life assurance scheme, workplace nursery scheme, company contributed pension scheme, on site gym & fitness classes, free daily food allowance, and a cycle to work scheme; but above all, the job satisfaction doesn’t get any better than the feeling of making a real contribution to our championship winning grand prix cars.
