Job Description

Red Bull Powertrains has an exciting Junior Engineer (Operational Excellence) opportunity to lead and support improvement initiatives across our Supply Chain operations.

As we transition from building our team’s first Power Units, you’ll play a pivotal part in ensuring they are refined to be race-ready, all aimed at delivering the most competitive car on the 2026 Formula One grid! You will be based at our state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes, working alongside our incredibly talented team, where you’ll apply lean tools, data analysis and structured problem-solving to optimise processes, reduce waste, and improve quality, cost and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support process analysis activities through data collection, time studies, and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements, including standardisation initiatives and solution trials.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement (CI) projects by helping coordinate activities, track actions, and monitor outcomes.
  • Help maintain accurate process documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, and process maps.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational improvements and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For:

This role would suite someone with experience in engineering/high precision manufacturing or a postgraduate looking to embark on a career within engineering/operations.

Key Characteristics we’re looking for are:

  • Analytical – Comfortable working with data and identifying basic trends or anomalies.
  • Curious – Eager to learn, ask questions, and understand how things work.
  • Collaborative – Team player who enjoys working with others and supporting shared goals.
  • Organised – Able to manage tasks and prioritise effectively with support from others.
  • Hands-On – Willing to spend time on the shop floor, learning from real-world processes.
  • Adaptable – Open to feedback and comfortable adjusting to changing priorities,
  • Resilience – Ability to stay positive and focused when faced with resistance and delays.

Not only is this a great opportunity to join the newly formed Operational Excellence Department as a Junior Operational Excellence Engineer, but it is also a fantastic team to work with here at Red Bull Powertrains. A good salary is just the start, there are many other benefits too such as our bonus scheme, private health care cover, life assurance scheme, workplace nursery scheme, company contributed pension scheme, on site gym & fitness classes, free daily food allowance, and a cycle to work scheme; but above all, the job satisfaction doesn’t get any better than the feeling of making a real contribution to our championship winning Grand Prix cars.
