Job Description
We have a new opportunity to be part of our Indirect Procurement team in the role of Indirect Procurement Buyer.
In this role, you will manage the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of a broad range of indirect goods, materials, and services. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of goods and services that support the operational needs of the business. Your focus will be on achieving best value through strong supplier relationships, process improvements, and procurement best practice. This is a key position contributing to our ambition to perform consistently as a top team in the FIA Constructors’ Championship.
You will be responsible for:
- Procuring indirect goods and services in line with business requirements, ensuring a balance of cost, quality, and delivery.
- Raising and managing purchase orders and order schedules through the ERP system.
- Developing and maintaining supplier relationships to drive performance, reduce lead-times, and improve value.
- Ensuring compliance with procurement policy, processes, and governance throughout the sourcing lifecycle.
- Supporting and developing procurement strategies aligned with wider business goals.
- Conducting price comparisons, supplier evaluations, and commercial negotiations.
- Acting as an interface between suppliers and internal departments across procurement, operations, and engineering.
- Supporting continuous improvement of procurement processes and administrative functions to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitoring market trends, pricing, and supply risks, identifying opportunities to drive savings.
- Keeping up to date with company needs and planning procurement activities accordingly.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
- Strong experience in indirect procurement or purchasing, ideally within motorsport or a high-precision engineering environment.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, or similar.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with the ability to build productive relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Advanced IT skills, particularly Excel.
- Analytical, numerically astute, and able to solve problems with a commercial mindset.
- Understanding of procurement best practices, governance, and cost control.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and confident in decision-making.
- Calm, flexible, and professional approach under pressure.
- A collaborative team player, capable of contributing to strategic goals while maintaining hands-on involvement in daily activity.
This is a full-time office-based role based at our campus in Silverstone, with additional requirement to travel to other locations where necessary.
