We have an exciting opportunity for a Gearbox Assembly Technician to join our high-performance team in the relentless pursuit of racing excellence. In this role you will play a vital role in the assembly, service, and maintenance of all transmission and hydraulic components. Working closely with the Race Team, Car Assembly, R&D, and Quality departments, you will ensure that all transmission systems are dyno-ready and meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- To build and service all Gearbox and Hydraulic related components in accordance with the specification required.
- Provide full support for dyno operations, ensuring assemblies are complete, tested, and available on schedule.
- Interpret technical drawings and build documentation with precision.
- To carry out general maintenance on all rigs and equipment needed in the servicing and testing of these assemblies.
- Work to the highest standards and in accordance with the specifications, to ensure delivery, performance and reliability targets are met efficiently and on time.
- Maintain equipment and workspaces to ensure peak operational readiness.
- Collaborate with departments across the team, attending meetings and providing feedback when required.
- Support off-site dyno testing and assist in training new team members.
- Champion safety protocols and contribute to the continuous improvement of workshop standards.
- Proven experience in a Formula One or high-level motorsport environment.
- Expertise in modern F1 transmission and hydraulic systems, including testing, service and repair.
- Technically confident and calm under pressure with an organised approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with dyno operations is advantageous.
- Proactive approach, with ability to multitask and achieve targets with challenging timescales.
- Strong team ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information across departments, collaborate effectively within a high-performance team environment, and confidently engage with colleagues at all levels.
- Strong computer skills, with the ability to confidently navigate and utilise company business systems, software tools, and digital documentation platforms.
- Flexible approach to working hours, with a willingness to support additional hours when required to meet critical business and operational needs.
