About the Role

In this role, you are responsible for the day-to-day operations within the finance department. You will process all incoming and prepare outgoing invoices, maintain accurate financial records, and assist in budget preparation and financial reporting. You will work closely with the All-round Financial Controller.


You take pride and satisfaction in keeping our financial administration in perfect order. With an eye for detail, you notice even the smallest errors. You always keep the goal in mind of maintaining a complete and well-documented administration, and you don’t hesitate to reach out to our suppliers or your colleagues whenever necessary to achieve that goal.


Once you have the daily tasks well under control, you are eager to develop further and take on additional responsibilities to support the finance department.


Responsibilities

  • Processing incoming emails and finance-related correspondence
  • Processing all incoming invoices and verifying their accuracy
  • Preparing and issuing all outgoing invoices to clients
  • Organising and labelling all invoices to the correct ledger accounts
  • Processing all bank transfers, credit card transactions and employee expense declarations
  • Keeping an overview of the accounts receivable and payable administration
  • Setting up and maintaining general ledger administration
  • Archiving and documenting all financial records in line with company and legal requirements
  • Supporting the department in creating the annual finance reports and audits
  • Requesting and following up on missing invoice copies from suppliers and colleagues
  • Preparing and submitting VAT declarations (both domestic and EU transactions) in collaboration with the Financial Controller
  • Monitoring VAT compliance, ensuring correct VAT coding and reporting on all transactions
  • Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
  • Performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting in budget tracking and variance analysis
  • Supporting in the preparation of cash flow forecasts and liquidity planning
  • Helping identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the finance department
  • Providing ad hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management


About You

  • Education in Finance or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Dutch and EU financial laws and VAT regulations
  • Experience with financial administration software (e.g. Twinfield, or similar)
  • Proactive, problem solving, and highly detail-oriented
  • Fluent in English and Dutch (written and spoken)
  • Living in the Netherlands
  • Available 32-40 hours per week
