As an Electronics Design Intern, you’ll be part of a team that delivers cutting-edge solutions to meet the demands of Formula One racing.
The Role
As an Electronics Design Intern, you’ll support the design and development of electrical systems and components across on car, wind tunnel, pitstop and other factory test equipment projects. You’ll work closely with experienced electronics engineers, contributing to schematic design, PCB layout, harness design, and documentation processes that ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with F1 regulations.

The Role
As an Electronics Design Intern, you’ll support the design and development of electrical systems and components across on car, wind tunnel, pitstop and other factory test equipment projects. You’ll work closely with experienced electronics engineers, contributing to schematic design, PCB layout, harness design, and documentation processes that ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with F1 regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of electronic components and systems
- Support schematic capture, PCB layout, and wiring harness design
- Help prepare technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing
- Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with software, mechanical, and vehicle performance teams to ensure seamless system integration
- Currently studying a degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and seeking an industry placement in your penultimate year of university
- Strong understanding of electronics design principles and circuit theory
- Experience with ECAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, Zuken)
- Familiarity with PCB design, wiring harnesses, and embedded systems
- Passion for motorsport and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset
- Opportunities to contribute to the development of race-critical electrical systems
- You must have the right to work in the UK as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role
- Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre in October
