Job Description

At Alpine Formula One Team, we have an opportunity to join our well-established Composites department as a Composite Technician – Assembly.

We have three vacancies, two for weekday Night shift, and another vacancy for weekday days.

Composite Technician (Assembly) - The Role

To carry out the precise trimming, assembly, and finishing of composite components to meet high standards of quality, safety, and production efficiency. The role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trim composite components using hand tools, air tools, and templates to meet tight tolerances.
  • Assemble composite parts using bonding techniques, adhesives, and mechanical fasteners.
  • Interpret and follow technical drawings, lay-up schedules, and work instructions.
  • Conduct surface preparation, sanding, deburring, and finishing operations.
  • Perform visual inspections and report any defects or non-conformances.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient work area.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Proven experience in a similar composites trim and assembly role.
  • High level of skill in using hand and power tools for precision work.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible and positive approach to achieving team and production targets.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider team across different shifts.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working area.
  • Organised and self-motivated with a proactive attitude.

Desirable

  • Experience in motorsport, aerospace, or high-performance manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of composite materials such as carbon fibre and glass fibre.
  • Familiarity with bonding techniques and adhesive systems.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
