We’re currently seeking a Composite Shift Lead to join our Composites Production team on the night shift. This is a pivotal leadership role, ensuring smooth operations, high-quality output, and team development across our composite manufacturing processes.
The Role
Reporting to the Production Manager (Composites), you’ll lead, and support Cell Leads and technicians across the full Composite production operation. You’ll be the go-to person for Composites during your shift, coordinating resources, solving problems, and driving high performance.

The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor Cell Leads, supporting development and performance across the shift
- Manage shift scheduling, workflow, and production targets, ensuring effective handover
- Oversee your shifts Composite Production operations, ensuring quality and efficiency on your shift
- Review technical drawings and support accurate time/method estimates
- Ensure timely preparation of tooling, materials, and fixtures
- Maintain data accuracy in ERP systems (e.g. D365)
- Champion safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement
- Act as understudy and deputy to the Production Manager when required
You’re a confident leader with a strong engineering background and hands-on experience in composite manufacturing and production. You’re calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering excellence.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven expertise in laminating, curing, trimming, and all composite production techniques
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and work instructions
- Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft D365 preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills
- Understanding of quality control, health & safety, and environmental compliance
- Organised, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement
- Motorsport or high-performance engineering experience
- Knowledge of DFM, Lean Manufacturing, and sustainability practices
- Coaching or mentoring experience
