We are currently looking for a talented Composite Design Engineer to join our Suspension, Steering & Brakes (SSB) team.
You will be responsible for designs from initial concept through to prototype production in a team whose responsibilities range from driver controls, pedal boxes, brake ducts, and steering.
Our ideal candidate is someone with strong understanding of composites materials engineering and science together with detailed knowledge of relevant composites manufacturing technologies.
As a Composite Design Engineer in SSB, you will be involved in:
Conceptual and detailed design of car components and structures.
Produce structurally efficient, cost effective designs with a high level of attention to mass, stiffness and cost trade-off.
Liaise with other departments including aerodynamics, vehicle science, electronics design, chassis structure, transmissions, stress office, R&D and production.
Thorough analysis of problems that arise and timely implementation of fault rectification..
Driving continuous improvement and promote autonomous creativity.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A relevant degree or equivalent qualification supported by design experience in motorsport, aerospace or a related field.
An understanding of composite materials and composite stress analysis for preliminary sizing.
Strong CAD skills, ideally with experience of Siemens NX.
The ability to own and lead projects in their area of expertise.
A proactive approach to problem-solving, along with good attention to detail.
Great organisational skills with the ability prioritise tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines.
A friendly, collaborative outlook, with good communication and organisation skills will help the successful candidate integrate well into our design team.
