We have an exciting opportunity for an Audio Communications Technician to setup, configure and operate both digital radio systems and AOIP intercom hardware. This role involves working closely with Trackside IT support engineers, and Electronics Support group members, to provide and support the correct operation of our audio communications systems at our F1 Track events.
Key accountabilities:
- Supporting all aspects (programming, configuration, testing, monitoring and maintenance) of our audio communications hardware and software systems, (including intercom panels, intercom nodes, belt packs, radios, wireless access points and battery chargers) to ensure the correct system functionality and presentability during track events.
- Updating and following checklists in order to ensure the correct audio communications system setup and operation.
- Controlling and managing stock of all communications and associated electronics hardware through EPM software, to ensure the necessary inventory at all events including spares.
- Ensuring that all system configuration changes, audio recordings, and log files are correctly archived and accessible on an event-by-event basis.
- Completing an event report on a daily basis, including reporting communications issues and following up on any resulting actions.
- Be familiar and competent with the necessary tools and test equipment required to diagnose and rectify common communications hardware issues at the track.
- Coordinate with 3rd party suppliers and system providers to maintain reliable audio communication with the car through the SCS, including car audio system functionality checks.
