We have an opportunity for a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our Pattern Shop team working on a 12-month fixed term contract with our weekend shift. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the success of our Formula One team, working at the cutting edge of motorsport manufacturing. As a CNC Machinist, you will play a vital role in ensuring our components are finished to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine composite components using advanced 5-axis CNC machines and offline programming.
- Produce complex patterns, moulds, jigs, and Rohacell parts to exacting tolerances.
- Hand-finish patterns, moulds, jigs, Rohacell, and related components for the next stage of the manufacturing process.
- Cut and prepare stock materials ready for machining.
- Assemble moulds and patterns following complex engineering drawings.
- Monitor and prioritise workload to meet production schedules.
- Support the Rohacell section when required.
- Provide feedback on part quality and identify potential issues before they leave the department.
- Ensure alignment with car build schedules and support production deadlines.
- Uphold company standards in safety, professionalism, and quality control.
- Monitor and report stock levels for reordering.
- Strong understanding of composite machining techniques and tight-tolerance manufacturing
- Previous experience in a Formula One or high-level motorsport environment
- Strong knowledge of pattern shop processes and hand-finishing techniques.
- Experience with traditional pattern making methods.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and assemblies.
- Understanding of the manufacturing lifecycle and how components are used downstream.
- High attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and calm under pressure.
- Able to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
- Willingness to adapt to changing demands and work additional hours when needed.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
