Job Description

Alpine Racing has placed Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) at the very heart of our aerodynamics development strategy. As we relentlessly pursue on-track performance, we harness cutting-edge computational technologies, advanced data analysis, and sophisticated engineering modelling techniques.

As we develop our CFD group, we are seeking a well-organised and enthusiastic CFD Engineer to join our high-performance team. This is a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting applications and contribute directly to the performance of our Formula One car.

The Role

You will be responsible for the application of CFD tools and the analysis of aerodynamics data to support car development. While much of the work involves automated processes, you will also be expected to run bespoke simulations, requiring a strong understanding of physics modelling and computational methods.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Running and analysing CFD simulations using OpenFOAM.
  • Supporting aerodynamics development through data-driven insights.
  • Developing and refining simulation processes and tools.
  • Collaborating with aerodynamicists, designers, and performance engineers.

The Person

We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled individual with a passion for motorsport and innovation. You should be comfortable working under pressure and committed to delivering results within tight deadlines.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Natural Sciences.
  • Proven experience in CFD application, ideally in motorsport or automotive sectors.
  • Strong proficiency with OpenFOAM (essential).
  • Familiarity with CAE tools such as CATIA, ANSA, and ParaView.
  • Excellent IT literacy, including scripting and automation (Python preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

At Alpine, you’ll be part of a passionate and driven team, working at the forefront of motorsport technology. We offer a dynamic and collaborative environment where innovation thrives and every team member plays a vital role in our success on the track.
