Job Description

Join the Audi F1 Project - Shape the Future of Motorsport!

Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.

Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. The new team has three locations. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. We have recently opened Sauber Motorsport Technology Center in the UK. Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations with support from the UK.

We are now opening applications for our inaugural Graduate Programme. In your graduate role, you will contribute directly to live projects, gaining hands-on experience from day one.

Continuous improvement is at the core of what we do. You will be encouraged to adapt and innovate, strengthening your skills and developing a growth mindset. Clear and effective communication, as well as constructive feedback, will be essential in helping you collaborate across teams. You will share knowledge openly and learn from the experience of your teammates. And we place great emphasis on ownership: you will take responsibility for your work, make informed decisions and understand how your contributions shape the wider team's success.

Your mission

As a graduate member of the Aerodynamics Performance team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring maximum aerodynamic performance on track. You’ll work closely with the Aerodynamics Development group and the Race Team to monitor and optimise car behaviour. Your responsibilities include live monitoring of aerodynamic performance during track sessions, providing feedback and recommendations to track engineering, and conducting detailed post-event analysis. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence the performance of a Formula 1 car while gaining invaluable experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the aerodynamic behaviour of the car on track in real time from the Operations Room.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to track engineering during events.
  • Conduct in-depth aerodynamic performance and correlation analysis post-event.
  • Share findings and feedback with key stakeholders, including the Performance Director, Aerodynamic Development, and Track Engineering teams.
  • Alongside other group members:
  • Create and maintain the aerodynamic catalogue.
  • Create and maintain aerodynamic inputs for other simulation tools within the company.
  • Collaborate with the Wind Tunnel Methodology group and Aero Analytics on testing strategies and aeromap generation.
  • Maintain and develop tools for the Aero Performance group.

Your profile

Required Qualifications

  • MSc in Aerospace or Motorsport Engineering with a focus on Aerodynamics.
  • Understanding of aerodynamic measurement techniques.
  • Experience with MATLAB and Python programming.
  • Experience in Formula SAE or similar projects is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of race car aerodynamics.

Personal Attributes

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in documentation and data management.
